Kids and Teens Acting Classes

Through play and a stimulated imagination, a child’s sense of place in the world is formed.

Years K-6

This is the very simple philosophy that underpins all of PAC’s kids classes. Open to primary-aged students, these kids classes will focus on developing your child’s awareness of self and, by stepping into the shoes of exciting and bold characters, an awareness of the other.

Kids term and school holiday classes offered at PAC will explore:

  • Storytelling
  • Character creation
  • Performance
  • Voice and movement
  • Stagecraft
  • Monologue/Scene work
  • Self-devised pieces

Too cool for school, but not for the stage!

Years 7-12

Whether you’re in Years 7-10 or Years 11-12, this is your time to own who you are. You are young and creative and you have things you want to say. And there’s nothing like an acting class to help you develop your voice, and no place like the stage (or screen) to use it.

PAC’s teen classes have been created as a way for students to build upon skills learnt in previous terms. This way, students not only feel a personal sense of achievement, but they are also industry ready; equipped to step up on the main stage of the Australian stage and screen industry.

Teen term and school holiday classes offered at PAC will include:

  • Fundamentals of Theatre Acting
  • Theatre Production and Performance
  • Film/Screen Acting
  • Audition and Casting Techniques

Who knows, they might just learn a thing or two.

Not only do all of the classes here at PAC encourage students to be brave and let loose. We value, just as highly, the development of key acting skills including:

  • The ability to improvise and think on your toes.
  • The ability to collaborate with peers.
  • The ability to understand and analyse text including scripts.
  • The ability to use expressive skills, including voice and body, to convey character and communicate ideas.
  • The ability to utilise stagecraft to enhance a performance.
  • The ability to perform in front of an audience with confidence.
  • The ability to evaluate and self-reflect.

All of our classes at PAC aim to make our students feel:

  • Comfortable with themselves.
  • Comfortable with their space/environment.
  • Comfortable with their fellow actors.
  • Comfortable with spontaneity.
  • Comfortable with text.
  • Comfortable with craft and technique.
  • Comfortable with performance and audience.

This is done through creating a learning environment that is supportive, inclusive, free-from-judgement and most importantly, fun.
