Masterclass Overview
During this 2-day intensive Masterclass with award-nominated actor and casting director Jo Briant, actors will learn to how to prepare for, set up and deliver effective self-tape performances.
Through a series of practical exercises and constructive feedback by Jo, actors will free up their instincts and learn how to capture more authentic and truthful performances on screen.
The on-camera and self-tape skills learned in this Masterclass can be then applied to the actor’s future auditions and/or as part of their prospective agent submission materials.
This course is open to actors ages 17+ – with some training/professional experience – who have a strong desire to further their training in self-taping, auditioning and screen acting.
Masterclass Outcomes:
During this 2-Day Self-Tape Masterclass for actors aged 17+, Jo will focus on:
- TV, film and commercial scripts for auditions.
- Tips on Self Taping, in front of and behind the camera.
- How to prepare for a casting.

About Jo Briant:
Jo Briant is an Actor, Acting Coach, Master Teacher and has been a Casting Director at Fountainhead Casting for the last 12 years.
She has worked extensively in theatre, film and television in New Zealand and Australia appearing in shows such as The Twelve, Total Control, Kairos, Reckoning,The Fighting Season, Psychoanalysis, Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am, Home and Away,The Moodys, All Saints,Water Rats, Murder Call, Big Sky, Shortland Street and numerous commercials and voiceovers. She is also an experienced Director, Success Coach and Energy Healer.
She loves combining acting, coaching and casting as her wealth of experience and intimate understanding of an actors world both on screen and off enables her to guide other actors in a fun and open hearted way.
