Course overview:
This 10-week course for kids aged 5-7 and is all about fun and exploration and is designed to nurture, not tamper with their already vivid and colourful imaginations. Through a range of practical exercises, improvisation and play, students will learn to create stories with their voices and bodies and in doing so, will explore different world and characters.
The course will culminate in an end-of-year showcase for family and friends.
Students will be lead by energetic and passionate teachers whose first goal is to create a supportive, fun and dynamic learning environment. Students will be encouraged to be free, playful and thoughtful actors and each class is designed to awaken students to the power of their own voices and bodies.
Here’s a summary of the exciting adventures planned for each week. Please note, there may be some variation to this program depending on class numbers, skill level and learning needs.
Weeks 1-2: Theatrical Warm-ups and Icebreakers
- Interactive Warm-up Games: Set the stage for laughter and collaboration with engaging games that boost energy and teamwork.
- Icebreaker Activities: Facilitate introductions and create a supportive environment for the young actors to connect.
Weeks 3-4: Storytelling Through Movement
- Creative Movement Sessions: Explore how bodies can tell stories through expressive movements and dance.
- Story Circle: Encourage children to share their favorite stories and discuss the characters they find fascinating.
Weeks 5-6: Becoming Characters
- Introduction to Character Play: Dive into the world of characters through imaginative play and storytelling.
- Role-Playing: Introduce basic acting techniques as children embody different characters, fostering creativity and self-expression.
Weeks 7-8: Crafting Mini Scenes
- Group Scene Creation: Collaborate on creating short scenes, allowing kids to work together in building narratives.
- Prop Exploration: Introduce props to enhance storytelling and encourage the use of creativity in scene creation.
Weeks 9-10: Showcasing Talents
- Mini Performances: Provide each child with the opportunity to showcase a short scene or story they’ve developed during the term.
- Celebration and Certificates: Celebrate the end of the term with a small gathering, recognising each child’s achievements with Certificates of Participation.
Throughout the Term:
- Positive Reinforcement: Foster a positive and encouraging environment, emphasising effort and creativity.
- Weekly Reflections: Take a few minutes at the end of each class for children to share their favorite activities and what they’ve learned.

Note: PAC recognises the varying levels of experience amongst its students and so our teachers, at all times, will adjust their classes to accomodate to all levels.
